PS Linguistics (1 and 2) Workshops: Scholarly Sources for Linguists

To allow students of linguistics proseminars (PS1 and PS2, English and American Studies) to practice searching for academic sources, the English and American Studies librarian will be offering workshops "Scholarly Sources for Linguists":

  • Practice-oriented worshops (1/3 revision and overview of basics & 2/3 hands-on research practice, working on proseminar topics)
  • Workshop for beginners and PS2 students who would like a reminder & an overview how it all works (2/3 overview & 1/3 practice)
  • Assisted research
  1. Practice-oriented worshop: Scholarly Sources for Linguists (1/3 revision and overview of basics & 2/3 hands-on research practice, working on proseminar topics) MONDAY 24.10. 10:00 - 12:00
  2. Practice-oriented worshop: Scholarly Sources for Linguists (1/3 revision and overview of basics & 2/3 hands-on research practice, working on proseminar topics): FRIDAY 28. 10. 10:00 - 12:00
  3. Workshop for beginners and PS2 students who would like a reminder & an overview how it all works (2/3 overview & 1/3 practice): MONDAY 31.10. 9:00-11:00
  4. Practice-oriented worshop: Scholarly Sources for Linguists (1/3 revision and overview of basics & 2/3 hands-on research practice, working on proseminar topics):THURSDAY 3.11. 14:00-16:00
  5. Assisted research: Scholarly Sources for Linguists (Work on your topic with a librarian at hand to assist with difficulties): FRIDAY 4.11. 14:00-16:00 (Students are required to have had an introduction to research in PS1 in the same semester or to have taken part in workshop 3

Further information:

  • Place: PC LAB, 1st Floor English Department
  • Number of participants: Max. 15 places per workshop.
  • Registration: Students must register. There will be registration forms for each workshop opposite the SSS Anglistik from Monday 17.10. 10:00. Registration will remain open until the last weekday before the workshop date.
