Using the library
Patrons can borrow loanable books for a minimum of 7 days.
Reference works, items published before 1911 and journals can only be used in the library.
It is also possible to borrow and return books at the secretariat of the institute!
To borrow books a valid library card of the Vienna University Library is required. The library card can also be issued at the Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies Library. Therefore please bring your student ID or an ID and your proof of residence (Meldezettel) if you are not a student.
The Regulations for the Libraries (PDF) of Vienna University apply. If books are not returned on time, readers' borrowing privileges are temporarily revoked and overdue fees become due.
Books are shelved according to a shelfmark classification developed for this library.

• Photocopying machine (copy cards are sold at the secretariat or in the library)

Keys for the lockers can be borrowed at the librarian’s office with your library card. The keys should be returned by 5:00 p.m.
