Publishing and Visibility

Vienna University Library provides a wide range of services related to the publication of research findings.

• The Open Access Office  offers the following services:
  • Funding for open access publications , including for FWF projects.
  • u:scholar  enables open access publication of scholarly publications.
  • Open Journal Systems (OJS)  supports the publication of Open Access journals at the University of Vienna.

• The Bibliometrics and Publication Strategies team offers researchers at the University of Vienna basic support with bibliometric questions as well as individual advice on optimizing publication strategies and increasing visibility.
  Services around important digital identifiers for research:
  • The ORCID iD has become the internationally recognized standard identifier for researchers. The Bibliometrics and Publication Strategies team offers researchers:
    • Advice on creating and using an ORCID iD
    • An introductory webinar on ORCID iD each semester
    • Support with linking your ORCID iD to u:cris (together with the u:cris team)

• The DOI Service  provides researchers at the University of Vienna with DOIs for publications.

• The Research Information System u:cris  enables the showcasing of research achievements via the u:cris portal  and integration of u:cris data on University of Vienna websites via a TYPO3 plug-in .
