There are six PCs with internet access in the user area. Four research computers are set up in room 1 opposite the information desk. Two more PCs are located at workplaces in room 4.
All our users have access to the University of Vienna’s WLAN in the library rooms (Instructions for use). This makes it possible to use the Internet with mobile devices without a great deal of configuration work.
Access to licensed electronic resources is possible for students and employees of the University of Vienna using their u:account via u:access.
Users without a u:account can only use these resources on the freely accessible research computers or with their own mobile devices with a connection to the University of Vienna’s WLAN.
A u:print device is available in the user area. Printing and copying are possible for a fee using your u:card. Scanning is free of charge.
There is also a book scanner in the user area, which can be used free of charge. All you need is a USB storage medium (USB-stick or external hard drive) to save the digital copies. The instructions for use of this reflected-light scanner are available on site, in which the most important functions of the device are explained. The device is easy to operate using a touchscreen.
