Using the Library

Shelfmark classification:

Books are shelved according to a shelfmark classification developed for this library. Within the subject groups the books are sorted in ascending order.

Library infrastructure:

  • Three library computer terminals with internet access
  • u:print photocopying machine (scanning is for free, but a u:card is required)
  • WLAN coverage


Keys for the lockers can be borrowed at the librarian’s office with your library card. If you don’t have a library card, we accept a valid ID by way of a pledge. The keys should be returned by 5:00 p.m. It is not allowed to keep them overnight.


If members of the Institute take books to their offices for longer they are asked to fill in a placeholder with their name and the call number of the book so that other library users can find the book.
