Loanable books can be borrowed for 7 days . To borrow books a library card is required. Students of Vienna University receive it in form of a u:card . Other users after preregistration can come to the Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies Library with the required documents to complete their registration.
If the library staff is absent books can be borrowed and returned at the secretariate of the Institute of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies!

Holds can be placed on borrowed books (if there is a date in the column "Due date" in u:search, the book is borrowed). When the book is returned, you are informed by e-mail that you can collect the book at the Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies Library. Reserved books will be ready to collect for 5 work days.
Reference works, dictionaries, periodicals and books that are older than 100 years cannot be borrowed. Please observe the relevant indications in u:search.
