Whether you want to find literature on a specific topic in general, or search specifically for books and journal articles, or use the subject-specific bibliographies and databases available online - we provide guidance on these various resources on the following pages.

You can also find a general orientation on the general search page of the University Library.

Please remember that many sources are only available in printed form. You can only find and use them in the library.

Searching the library collections

You can search for books and media from the holdings of the Departmental Library of German Studies - together with those of the entire University Library - in the media search engine u:search. There you will find both the physically available and the electronically accessible holdings of the library.

Eight research computers are available at the Departmental Library of German Studies. There are six of these computers in the entrance room (room 39), one of which is suitable for wheelchair users. In room 40 there are two more computers at tables for longer research.
