Members of the University of Vienna (students and employees) can access the electronic resources outside the University by establishing a connection via u:access Therefore, you require an employee or student u:account .
I tried logging in to u:access but the system did not accept my UserID and password.
You require an employee or student u:account to be able to log in. For licensing reasons, you cannot log in to u:access using a u:account for external persons.
I have a u:account, but I am not a student nor an employee of the University of Vienna. Can I still use electronic resources?
You can access licensed electronic resources anonymously and free of charge at specially labelled research computers at the University Library locations. We also offer a range of free resources that you can use without having to log in to u:access.
I can log in to u:access, but after a while, I can no longer use the e-resource.
Your log-in is only valid for the browser window that is currently active. If you open another browser window or a new tab in the browser, you have to log in to u:access again.
If you closed all browser windows, you have to open u:access again and log in once more.
I click the u:access button, but nothing happens.
This is normal if you have already logged in to u:access.
You only have to log in if you closed all browser windows after your last log-in. If you did not close all browser windows, you simply have to click the u:access button to connect to u:access again.
If the word “uaccess” appears in the address bar of your browser, it means that you are currently connected to u:access
