At most locations the use of the cloakroom is mandatory. Please bring a valid official photo ID to receive a locker key.

Research on site

All library sites have freely accessible computers that can be used to search for printed or electronic media without registering.

Ordering items from the closed stacks for use on site

A large part of the holdings of the University Library is stored in closed stacks. Media from these collections can be ordered and used in the reading rooms.

For an order without a library card, guests should contact the library where the book is located or the ubw:helpdesk.

Library users can use the WiFi of the University of Vienna free of charge at the University Library Vienna.

Persons over the age of 14 without a library card can receive a voucher for temporary WiFi access upon presentation of a valid official photo ID. This service is currently available in the Main Library at the information desk next to the Main Reading Room.

Scanners, copiers, printers

Scanners and/or copiers are available at almost all library locations. The use of the scanners is free. (Please bring your own USB stick - no other storage media!)

Information on using the copier (copy cards, costs) as well as printing options is available on site.
